The Merchants Guild represents a collective group of persons who provide goods and services for profit. While anyone can style themselves as a merchant, it is only those trained in a trade, and with official membership in or license from a local guild chapter, that are recognized as official merchants.

A cornerstone of civilization, merchants today - despite their rocky history during the Consolidation - are credited with ensuring the kingdom's continued prosperity; their tithes alone certainly must account for a significant percentage of coin within the Holy Order's coffers.
